What They Are Wearing

We recently attended a round of ready to wear and gift/ home decor trade shows. This is where we see all of the fashion "insiders", designers, store owners, and buyers. By paying attention to what they are wearing we get a clear picture of where fashion is headed. We thought you would enjoy seeing our findings.
The whole trend of long tops over leggings and jeggings is going big time into Fall & Holiday 2011.
The sharkbite hem top is the top to have. It's called sharkbite because the hems at the sides are shaped like a shark's teeth. This look is very flattering for woman of all ages and body types.
We are also seeing lots of short, choppy hairstyles. If you have long hair, the new look is to wear it straight and chop the sides around the face to chin length.
Shoes continue to be very exciting from flats to high platforms and all kinds of constructed shoes with chunky heels. All look great with slim leg bottoms.
2 pc. and layered tunics are a new offering this season.
Most tunics are flowy and good at hiding things. Those that want to show off their figure can wear something a little tighter. The moral of the story is tall or short, young or old, slim or chunky, there's a tunic top for everybody.

Now Here's What We Are Wearing...
Here is Carole wearing one of our best selling tops, the lace drape tunic. It is so flattering on and the purple color brightens up just about everyone's complexion.
Here I am in an art showroom wearing one of my favorite tops. It's cool, it's layered, and it comes with a flower pin that I can wear on other things. When the weather changes I can layer one of our seamless tees underneath.

We hope you have enjoyed reading this blog and that it has inspired you to try a little something new. At Revelation Tops we don't chase the trends, we adapt them, to bring the "real woman" up to date.

Our Latest Buying Trip & Trends

Carole and I have no problem spending money when it comes to buying new tops. We enjoy finding new vendors that you don't find in the chain stores. To keep our energy up we take advantage of some of the perks in the marketplace such as Cappuccino and French Pastries.
Some of the showrooms have models to welcome you.
We are always watching what the industry insiders are wearing. Lots going on with the guys this time. Saw lots of skinny jeans, trendy tennies, fedoras, fitted woven shirts worn outside, and ties.
Fedora Hats are showing up everywhere for both men & women.
An "eat while you work" showroom lunch.
Buyers REALLY appreciate this!
You never know what you might run into on the streets of L.A.
This demonstration took place outside the Fashion Mart. Glad we weren't wearing leather that day.
Great people watching in the Mart lobby while enjoying an orange scone from Urth Cafe.
This market Vita Coco was sampling their Coconut Water.
You know you have arrived at L.A. Fashion Headquarters when you see this guy!
Hong Kong Chop Suey...one of our favorite "off the beaten' path" downtown lunches.
It's always nice to work with designers who are friends.

Shopping Fun With Mary & Carole

Carole and I love to shop for the store. This trip started with beautifully displayed cupcakes. Imagine this display with all kinds of cute cupcakes there for the taking!
It's always nice when we can eat lunch in a showroom and keep working.
This day we enjoyed a Mexican fiesta.
Here Carole is having fun pretending she's a mannequin. We ordered this top too! Hope to see you soon. Spring has sprung with a whole new crop of TOPS!
